Outbound Network Resources Increase Data Center Capabilities

You reach a level where many data center offerings look the same. Their quality, fortitude and integrity are second to none. But sometimes it’s the data centers connectivity out of the building that needs to be scrutinized and depending on your companies use of the Internet on a worldwide basis could be a deciding factor when seeking a new colocation especially in a foreign country.

Some colocators are sourcing the ISP feeds from every available feed and sometimes it isn’t possible to gather that much at one location. Innovative data centers, most recently one in Amsterdam, has added a fourth colocation facility to their holdings. While obviously adding to their farm in general, they were using this and two other colocation data centers as entry points for Internet connectivity that can now be passed among the four sites and also be aggregated at their main facility. That’s the kind of connectivity a data center should have to add to the assurance that things will work beyond their own walls.

Even if a world wide Internet disaster occurred, the data center with the most I/O paths will be the last man standing indeed. While adding another parameter to a long chain of decisions should help narrow the focus, a value added redundancy of network options like that is sure to turns your head in their direction.
