“Fiasco” is a cool word for a mess, a flop, a disaster. Many voters (even non voters come to think of it) were roused from their summer joys and thrills, or from their troubles even, with the explosive report on the questionable Noynoy medical condition. It started with the allegations that noynoy medical records showed him to be diagnosed by no less than the Ateneo de Manila’s Department of Psychology to be afflicted with “major depressive disorder”. Further reports have it that the revelation of this juicy, and for some, exciting piece of information is in itself a very interesting conversation piece. Just that manner of revelation is in itself really amusing, I must agree with opinions of seasoned writers and columnists. Pre-empting what it expects to be a revelation to the public of these medical records that are highly sensitive, not to mention besmirching information, ABS-CBN itself, known to all to be partial to Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, moved on to reveal the contents of the alleged psychiatric report and then thought it a wise move to blame in on a Nacionalista Party (NP) insider. The fiasco is as the fiasco gets. Messier as messy goes. Instead of voters now judging the alleged insider to divulge the juicy info, the focus shifts to the info itself, that is, noynoy mental health. Like that mythological figure Hydra with a monstrous head, the issue is now back to haunt the Noynoy camp “with a life of its own.” A real fiasco, indeed.
